Our Mission
To partner with individuals, families, and organizations, in order to provide the highest quality trauma-informed psychotherapy, training, and consulting that uses evidence-based approaches LIKE psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive and behavioral models, as well as insight-oriented thinking rooted in cultural humility built around three main tenets:
1. Honoring the lived experience of disempowered and marginalized communities, and promoting commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion and belonging.
2. Building an organizational culture which values each individual member’s identity, richness of lived experience, and their need for personal growth while promoting a community of care.
3. Working within local and larger communities to foster the creation of safe environments where supportive trauma-informed conversations and work can help each individual member grow and thrive.
We are excited to announce that we have partnered up with PsychScan to offer you a free of charge valid and evidence based assessment of your mental health.
By taking this free test, in less than 10 minutes, you will be able to identify problem areas in which therapy can help. The test is available in English and Spanish.
Please note that taking this assessment is for your own self-awareness and general knowledge purposes only. It does not replace, treat, or cure any medical or mental health condition and it does not constitute any type of binding relationship between you and STEPS. If you wish to schedule an appointment, we'd be happy to assist you in doing so, based on your needs and our therapists' availability but such services are not guaranteed.
